About BRCAscoop

BRCAscoop is a high quality health information and educational resource for women and men with Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer risk due to BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations.

Whether you are a woman in an area where it is difficult to find specialists who see a large number of patients like you or perhaps you are looking for a resource to help you stay current with the health and well-being implications of new BRCA1/2-relevant research, we can help you.

There are three main parts to BRCAscoop.  Briefly, the first part is general information that can be accessed via the “BRCA1/2 Info” tab above.  The second part is the BRCAscoop Blog – a free resource covering new research findings and news of interest to the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer community.  Lastly, we have created a new service called The BRCAscoop Update which will be of interest to people desiring more information and deeper analysis beyond what is found in the BRCAscoop blog.

For more information, see “How to Get the Most Out of BRCAscoop.”

About Evinome

BRCAscoop is from Evinome which was founded to provide extremely high quality health information to individuals with inherited risk for serious adult disease and the professionals who care for them.  As a socially responsible business, we utilize simple, modern technology to catalyze evidence-based personalized health.  This means that we help people utilize health information from the scientific and clinical literature that is specific to them (i.e., in this case, because they have a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation) to support better shared decision-making with their doctors.

We don’t do genetic testing; rather, we focus on delivering key health information to people who have already learned that they are at risk – information that enables more effective shared decision-making with their healthcare providers.  With BRCAscoop, we are focusing initially on Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer, but we aim to grow to provide similar resources and tools for other conditions in which individuals have inherited significant risk for serious adult disease.

Evinome was founded by Dr. Matt Mealiffe, a physician with dual board certification in Internal Medicine and Clinical Genetics and significant clinical experience in the context of Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer risk and other cancer genetic syndromes.  For more information, please visit the Evinome website.
